GOOD + Pepsi = $20M grant-giving initiative in 2010
We at GOOD are very excited to announce a major new partnership that will help drive positive change in the world while also introducing a whole new way for us to interact with our community. Pepsi has asked us to partner with them to help curate, execute and create content around their bold new Refresh campaign—a $20 million grant-giving effort that will support ideas big and small that are designed to create positive social change.
In 2010, Pepsi will be granting millions of dollars every month to support the kinds of ideas we at GOOD have been keeping tabs on since our inception. From revamping a local community center to national solutions to pressing problems, the submissions will run the gamut. What they all have in common is an intention and potential to push the world forward, and change lives for the better. Grants ranging from $5,000 to $250,000 will be issued to groups, individuals, businesses and institutions that are voted on democratically and later vetted by us and our friends at GlobalGiving.
This new partnership represents a natural evolution for GOOD. It brings together our valued community of readers and users, our relationships with thought leaders across disciplines, and our commitment to supporting and promoting not only the people and ideas pushing the world forward, but also the businesses that are taking critical leadership position in this effort. It’s an honor to work with Pepsi to bring this project to life. As far as our mission to help individuals, businesses and non-profits help each other move the world forward, this project is as good as it gets.
We also see this as a whole new way of interacting with our community: When Pepsi starts accepting submissions on January 13 at www.RefreshEverything.com, we want to hear how you plan to create change in the world around you. When voting starts February 1, we want to hear which nominees you think will have the most impact. And to complete the circle, all grant winners will get the support, guidance and exposure they need to make their project a success.
